Sun Foundation’s Multi Skill Development Centre: Empowering Punjab’s Youth
In Punjab, the Sun Foundation has established itself as a beacon of hope for the youth through its extensive skill development initiatives. In partnership with the Punjab Skill Development Mission, the foundation operates a state-of-the-art Multi Skill Development Centre (MSDC) at Kabir Park, opposite GNDU Amritsar. This premier training facility began its mission following the execution of an MOU on September 26, 2021.
Spread over a sprawling three-acre campus, MSDC boasts modern laboratories and classrooms equipped with the latest technology, ensuring students receive training that meets SSC guidelines. What sets MSDC apart is its commitment to providing this high-quality education and subsequent job placements entirely free of cost.
MSDC’s impact is evident in its impressive track record. With a dedicated team of 50 experienced staff members, the center has trained over 2000 youths in various trades in last year alone. It has successfully placed around 1,273 individuals in prestigious organizations such as Airtel, Vodafone, Quest, Hotel Taj Swarna, OCM, Byjus, KFC, McDonald’s, Om Prakash Hospital, and Amandeep Hospital. Additionally, many trainees have gone on to establish their own successful ventures.
The center’s facilities are designed with student welfare in mind. It includes hostels with capacities of 100 for girls and 200 for boys, providing a safe and conducive environment for learning. The location is conveniently close to transportation hubs, just 2 km from the railway station and 3 km from the bus stand in Amritsar, making it accessible to students from various regions.
By choosing MSDC, students not only gain practical skills but also secure a brighter future with robust employment opportunities. Sun Foundation’s initiative in skill development is more than just an educational program; it’s a transformative journey towards self-reliance and economic independence for the youth of Punjab. Join us at MSDC and take the first step towards a prosperous career.
